I grew up in North Wales and my experiences as an LGBT young person living in a rural area have shaped my commitment to using technology to expand specialist provision.
Prior to becoming a counsellor I undertook a number of different campaigning and public relations roles in an enormous range of policy areas including race equality, student rights, animal welfare and workers rights.
I am active in campaigning to challenge the stigma around mental health, and use my own lived experience of mental health to work with clients to help them understand their existing coping strategies.
I have experience of working in a number of settings - private practice, corporate/business, and in the charity/third sector. I have worked in both time-limited (usually 4-6 sessions) and open-ended (any number, decided by the client) arrangements. I have specific experience working with LGBTQ people, students (further and higher education) and young people (aged 12-25) and as part of an employee assistance programme.
